North, south, east, and west, I travel extensively throughout the American Hockey League each season, allowing me ample access to all 31 AHL teams in the NHL’s top developmental league.
This season I will add a new podcast, Around The A, to my coverage of the NHL’s top prospects on NHL.com, EP Rinkside, SiriusXM NHL Network Radio, Tampa Bay Lightning Radio, and more. I can also be found talking hockey across a variety of social media platforms.
AROUND THE A
This season I am very excited for the debut of a new AHL-focused podcast, Around The A, with David Foot of the Belleville Senators radio team. David is also an on-air voice at CJBQ-AM 800 in Belleville, the voice of the OJHL’s Wellington Dukes, and he owns previous OHL experience with the Belleville Bulls and Peterborough Petes. He will bring excellent on-air polish to the show as we cruise around the AHL with a mix of guests, news, and stories. The show debuts Friday, October 4, and it will be available on Apple, Google, Spotify, Feedburner, and at Sports Podcasting Network. Around The A can be found on Twitter at @AroundTheAPod.
My NHL.com AHL Notebook is entering its fifth season. This weekly column runs each Wednesday with a focus on the AHL’s teams, players, and stories and how they affect the NHL in particular.
Once again I will handle AHL coverage for EP Rinkside, the publishing arm of EliteProspects.com. With my Around The AHL weekly column each Friday, you will be able to take a spin around the league with me from a variety of angles. Owned by Sweden’s Everysport Media Group with offices in Europe and North America, the site is a new platform for prospects-related features, columns, news, and rankings from top hockey leagues across the world. The site aims to offer readers a wealth of high-quality content and cover the top young NHL prospects from all over the world by marrying old-fashioned on-the-road reporting with EP’s vast statistical resources.
SIRIUSXM NHL NETWORK RADIO
Each Friday in the 10 a.m. Eastern hour, I will again be a guest of NHL Morning Skate on SiriusXM NHL Network Radio (Channel 91) with Scott Laughlin and Mike Johnson. We discuss the latest AHL storylines, top prospects, and much more.
HOCKEY PROSPECT RADIO
In 2017-18, I began a weekly segment on Hockey Prospect Radio with Shane Malloy and Russ Cohen. This season experienced radio voice Michelle Sturino will host the show alongside scout Brad Allen. Listeners can hear the show each Saturday at 9 a.m. Eastern on SiriusXM NHL Network Radio.
Along with my work with these NHL properties, I also appear each Monday in the 6 p.m. Eastern hour on Lightning Radio, the online radio home of the Tampa Bay Lightning. Veteran radio host Greg Linnelli and I discuss the talent-rich Tampa Bay farm system, the AHL, and whatever else around the hockey world happens to catch our attention.
In addition to my AHL experience, I have five seasons of NHL experience covering the Winnipeg Jets for NHL.com, including the return of the NHL to Winnipeg in 2011 and the Jets’ run to the Stanley Cup Playoffs in 2015.
In the 2015-16 season, I took an opportunity to make the transition from a team beat with the Jets to the challenge of covering an entire league. That season I divided my time between the NHL and AHL after the return of the Manitoba Moose to Winnipeg and was named the winner of the James H. Ellery Memorial Award. Prior to joining NHL.com, I covered the AHL for a variety of media outlets, including Sportsnet.ca, The Hockey News, TSN.ca, and Sun Media.
Along with my NHL and AHL experience, I also covered the ECHL& the Ontario Hockey League while working my way up the hockey ladder.
I also have a separate website, Around The A. This site will allow me to expand my work and bring you additional content on the NHL’s premier developmental league.
